    BRANCH SESSIONS
    We hope in the future to have a Quarterly Session which will be centre stage to one of our many functions throughout the year ie Summer BBQ or Christmas
    These will be for all to come and play or just listen to the music on offer. A great opportunity for the children to play the tunes they have learnt in their music classes.

    Thursday, 1st November, 2007 - St. Albans CCE AGM
    St. Albans Irish Club, 8pm
    Anyone interested in attending the meeting will be most welcome and encouraged to join the committee, if they would like to take a more active part in Irish music or find out more about our organisation in St. Albans.

    Sunday, 18th November, 2007- North London Junior Fleadh,
    Haringey Irish Centre.
    This is a great opportunity to gain experience of playing in competition, and enjoy meeting other musicians from other branches, as there will be more competitions in the new year with the London Regional Fleadh and the All-Britain Fleadh.

    Friday, 23rd November, 2007 - Regional Concert, 8pm.
    Haringey Irish Centre, Pretoria Road,  Tottenham.
    All Four branches of Comhaltas will be playing at a London Regional Concert, these will include musicians from North London, St. Albans, West London and East London. Tickets £6.

    Friday, 30th November, 2007 - St. Albans Irish Concert -
    The Abbey  Theatre, St. Albans, 8pm.
    St. Albans Branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann present their night of Traditional Irish Music, Song and Dance, a great night out for all the family, sold out last year so book early! See all our musicians from our beginners through to our most senior of players.

  • Thursday, 10th July - Marian Gill visit from West London
  • Instead of the usual thursday class Marian Gill and her musicians from West London CCE are to put on their Plearacha that they perform in Ennis each year, this will be followed by a session.
  • Saturday, 12th July - Comhaltas Exchange with Cambridge CCE
  • We will meet in Cambridge for a look around and go punting, afterwards Cambridge have laid on some food followed by a session in the Rathmore Club.
  • Sunday, 20th July - BBC Folk Proms, Kensington Gardens
  • All Comhaltas musicians under the guidance of Karen Ryan and the London Lasses are putting together a folk orchestra to perform on the day, everyone welcome, bring a picnic.
  • August 1st-4th, 2008 - Trip to Co. Kerry
  • we have been invited by the musicians in Cahirciveen, Co. Kerry to visit and play in their festival over the weekend, we hope to make this contact a permanent one and have their musicians back to St. Albans.
  • Saturday/Sunday 23rd/24thAugust, 2008 - All-Ireland Fleadh, Tullamore, County Offaly
    Scoil Eigse will run for the week before if any students want to attend workshops for the week with top teachers in their field in attendance.
  • Friday, 26th September, 2008 8pm- Monster Session
  • A welcome back from the Summer with a visit from Marian Gill and musicians from Ireland and her own West London school, along with our own musicians and anyone else wanting to come and join in the craic.
  • Friday, 24th Oct - Sun 2nd Nov - Return to Camden Town
  • A Festival of Traditional Irish Music, Song and Dance, 10 days of concerts,  ceilis, set dancing, workshops and sessions, we have details at the Music Class or go on line to www. returntocamden.org.
  • Saturday, 29th November, 2008 - Annual Concert, Abbey Theatre
  • Another date to keep free, as we put together a concert to showcase our talents and bring St. Albans Comhaltas into the publie domain for what is always an enjoyable night seeing our musicians take to the stage. Details and tickets soon.

  • Saturday, 24th January, 2009 - Christmas Session
  • A very popular night (after the turkey and wine has finally gone down) for a get together, everyone is welcome whether coming to play or just listen to the music in an informal atmosphere.
  • Saturday, 28th February, 2009 - Comhaltas Race Night
  • This is an extra date in our calendar as we are hoping to fundraise for a trip during 2009 to another branch in Ireland, following last years trip to Cahirciveen in Kerry, the race night is for all to have a bit of fun and will be followed by a Session.
  • Saturday, 4th April, 2009, 8pm - Hot Buffet Session
  • Our spring session gives another chance for all musicians and lovers of traditional irish music to come and enjoy a night in St.Albans with a hot buffet to keep you going.
  • Saturday, 4th July, 2009. 8pm - St.Albans CCE BBQ/Session
  • A great night in the calendar to come and enjoy some traditional irish music and song, and have a great bbq before we break for the summer.
  • Saturday, 19th September, 2009 - BBQ/Session
  • Back from the summer holiday and a chance to come to possibly the last bbq of the summer along with some great music and song.
